Shelley has been an avid home gardener and chef her entire life. A graduate of the University of California Santa Cruz, with a degree in botany, her professional life took her in to the hospitality industry; specifically restaurants. After many years running restaurants in the Bay Area, she was able to realize her dream and move to Napa to pursuit her dream of professional gardening and starting her own business producing chef quality jams, jellies and condiments. Garden Junkie Napa Valley is the realization of that dream.
As Shelley was perfecting her craft of canning and preserving, she won numerous Blue, Red and Silver and ribbons from the California State Fair, as well as county fairs in Santa Cruz and Contra Costa Counties.
Now, as an established Napa ‘local’, Shelley is currently consulting for and actively supervising chef’s gardens at two prestigious Napa Valley wineries, and producing commercial retail items (jams and jellies) under private label for three top tier Napa Valley wineries.
Shelley welcomes you to her two professional passions – the love of farm to table sustainable and organic gardening and chef quality preserved products. Along the way, she has raised a wonderful son – Zack (her real passion), who has followed her steps with a career in the restaurant industry. Zack is also a talented home wine and beer maker.
